NOMADE's opening at Hold Up Art in the Lil' Tokyo district of Los Angeles. What a change of pace for this gallery after the LUSHER show. One of the most impressive pieces in the show were the statues constructed from bronze. The detail and craftsmanship is inspiring. I had to ask a buddy of mine how hard is it to make a statue of that size and lets just say that was a short thought.

Bliss n Eno - Addicted (Official Video Clip)

The latest video from Bliss n Eso (an Australian hip hop group based in Sydney) for their song Addicted is a masterpiece for any lover of street art and underground culture. The video is said to have taken over three months (from start to finish) and was created using over 2,000 images and stop-motion animations. All of the graf was done by Deus and Askew One and used over 300 cans. The technique utilised multiple layers and cascaded out from the original pieces of art. The painting itself took approximately six days of near round-the-clock painting in a warehouse in Auckland, New Zealand.

Dusting off some old CD's and came across a classic in my collection. With out skipping a song you could listen to this whole CD and it takes you back to when you first discovered it. Most likely one of the most influential album in the 90's that really defined the youth in Long Beach during the 1992 L.A Riots. Came across an article online from Complex Magazine, the Top 25 Japanese Creatives You Need to Know. One artists peaked my interest, Nobuyoshi Araki. He is considered one of the most prolific artists alive or dead in Japan. Araki has published 350 books and are erotic in nature, some say pornographic. Which ever you lean towards does not deny his talent and genius. Arakimentari is a documentary fimed in 2005 by Travis Klose about the life and work of Nobuyoshi Araki. In an article back in 2006 by C.B. Liddell for the Japan Times, Araki explains his philosophy of photography that is very easily relatable at any level.

Keith Elam, better known as rapper Guru, succumbed to complications from cancer on Monday. He rose to fame in the 1980s as one half of the duo Gang Starr, in which he shared the spotlight with his partner, DJ Premier. He later found solo success with his series of "Jazzmatazz" albums. He was only 43.
