He is the godfather of music photgraphers, Jim Marshall.

Music photographer Jim Marshall died Wednesday March 24th in his sleep. Jim Marshall was in New York when he passed promoting a new book, "Match Prints," a collaboration effort with fellow photographer Timothy White. With over 500 album covers to his credits, 4 published books and so many iconic images his work will live forever. Marshal spent more than 50 years capturing musical legends from John Coltrane, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles. His career has been seen as a life's work instead of job. He was 74.
